Organized by the late Dr. Carter G. Woodson, founder of Negro History Week, now celebrated as African American History month, ASALH seeks to embrace and maintain the history of the African American community. The Association is Dr. Woodson’s legacy and it strives to improve on the plight of our history as a people.
