National Conference of African American Librarians (NCAAL)

This year marks the 10th year of the National Conference of African American Librarians (NCAAL). The meeting will take place in Atlanta August 9-14. Please see below for a message from the conference chairs.

From the Conference Co-Chairs

We are excited the 10th National Conference of African American Librarians is only a few weeks away. We look forward to coming together to network, share and learn. You are in store for an informative, inspirational and joyous time as we celebrate 25 years of convening our national conferences. The conference theme, “Beyond Library Wall: Innovative Ways to Engage Our Community” affords us an opportunity to explore virtual (24/7) access and programs outside the brick and mortar library as well as emphasize the strength of community engagement. We are happy to host this conference in Atlanta, one of the South’s most popular tourist destinations. Atlanta’s rich African American history deep rooted in the Civil Rights Movement makes it an excellent city for us to gather. We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta for a truly rewarding conference experience.

Carolyn Garnes & Dorothy Guthrie,
Conference Co-Chairs
